TrackerD-LS is an open source LoRaWAN asset tracker based on ESP32 MCU and Semtech LoRa wireless chip. It can retrieve the location data via GPS and send it to the IoT server via the LoRaWAN network.

TrackerD-LS supports motion detection, i.e. if there is motion, TrackerD-LS can send data more frequently and saves power if no motion is detected.

The LoRa radio technology used in TrackerD-LS allows the user to send data and achieve extremely long ranges at low data rates. It offers spread spectrum communication with extremely long range and high noise immunity with minimal power consumption. It is aimed at professional location services.

If there is no LoRaWAN network, TrackerD-LS can store the location data. It sends this data to the IoT server as soon as the LoRaWAN network is available.

TrackerD-LS is equipped with a 3000mAh Li-on battery and a solar panel, allowing the device to be used for many years. Each TrackerD-LS has a globally unique OTAA key to join the LoRaWAN network.

TrackerD-LS is easy to programme. Developers can use Arduino IDE to customise the software of TrackerD-LS to their IoT solution.
