The DRAGINO RS485-LB is an RS485 / UART to LoRaWAN converter for Internet of Things solutions. The user can connect an RS485 or UART sensor to the RS485-LB converter and configure the RS485-LB to regularly read sensor data and upload it to the IoT server via the LoRaWAN network.
RS485-LB can be connected to RS485 sensors, 3.3v/5v UART sensors or interrupt sensors. RS485-LB offers a 3.3 V output and a 5 V output for supplying external sensors. Both output voltages are controllable to minimise the overall power consumption of the system. RS485-LB is waterproof (IP67) and is powered by an 8500mAh Li-SOCI2 battery and is designed for long-term use over several years. RS485-LB runs with the LoRaWAN 1.0.3 standard in class A. It can achieve a large transmission range and can be easily integrated into LoRaWAN-compatible gateways and IoT servers.
For data uplink, RS485-LB sends customised commands to RS485 devices and receives the feedback message from the RS485 devices. RS485-LB processes this returned data according to the user-defined rules to obtain the final payload and upload it to the LoRaWAN server. For data downlink, RS485-LB runs in LoRaWAN Class A. When there are downlink commands from LoRaWAN server, RS485-LB forwards the commands from LoRaWAN server to RS485 devices. RS485-LB supports BLE configuration and wireless OTA update, which makes it easier for users to use.
Each RS485-LB is pre-loaded with a set of unique keys for LoRaWAN registration, these keys are registered with the LoRaWAN server and the connection is automatically established after power-on.
